Bravus and Cowboys celebrate with visit to Carmichael Mine site

Bravus Mining & Resources and the North Queensland Cowboys have celebrated the first home game of the season with a visit to the Carmichael site, recognising the start of the 2021 Platinum Partnership with the Bravus logo emblazoned on the jersey sleeve.

Cowboys, Josh McGuire, Mitchell Dunn and Jake Granville took the time to meet Bravus employees and contractors, while also checking out some of the big machinery and construction activity occurring onsite.

Bravus Mining & Resources CEO Mr David Boshoff said the visit was a huge boost for the Carmichael Project employees, of which many are also staunch supporters of the Cowboys.

“A number of our employees had the chance to meet the Cowboys, have lunch with their sporting heroes, get some photos and signatures, and even show them the work they do onsite,” Mr Boshoff said.

“The Cowboys had the chance to go for a drive, as passengers, in our trucks, and really get a feel for what its like to work on a mine construction site.

“The visit was a great reward for our employees, a fantastic way to celebrate the start of our Platinum Partnership, and we think the Cowboys had a lot of fun out onsite too,” he said.

Mr Boshoff said the partnership was a reflection of Bravus’ commitment to the regional Queensland community.

“We are so proud to be a company dedicated to supporting Queenslanders and our partnership with the North Queensland Cowboys is one of the ways we back regional Queensland communities.

“Over the years we have worked with the Cowboys as a sponsor of the Try for 5! Program in 2019 and we are very proud to now be presenting partner of the Adopt-a-School Program, which connects children with their adopted Cowboys as role models for our next generation.

“There’s so much good that the Cowboys do for regional Queensland communities beyond the sport itself, and we are very proud to partner with them in this work.”

North Queensland Cowboys forward, Josh McGuire said the visit to site was an amazing experience.

“We got the whole experience. We got to see the excavator load up the dump truck and the whole operation in action. It’s a lot different to the car I drive at home!

“The importance of having Bravus as a sponsor has been massive. For Bravus to come onboard in 2020 through COVID, we experienced the whole football and corporate department stood down at that time, and Bravus took on a lot of our staff and provided jobs and opportunities for those men and women, which kept our club running during that period.

“To continue to invest in us as a club and as a community has been massive, and we as players will be forever grateful to Bravus for the opportunity that they give us as players as well.”
