Bravus and Rockhampton Basketball partnership a slam dunk

Bravus Mining & Resources and Rockhampton Basketball are celebrating the continuation of their sporting partnership by installing new Bravus signage throughout the Rockhampton Bravus Arena.

Bravus Mining and Resources CEO David Boshoff said the company was proud to continue its partnership which is getting get more kids onto the court and shooting hoops. 

“Sport plays such an important part in the physical and mental wellbeing of our children, and it also brings communities together,” Mr Boshoff said.

“This partnership provides support from the ground up, creating opportunities for more young people to get involved, as well as assisting in attracting new talent for the top tier competition.

“We’re proud to support one of Rockhampton’s most popular and successful sports, which also provides a great source of entertainment for families across the region,” he said.

Over the past two years the partnership has seen an almost 20 per cent increase in playing numbers at Rockhampton Basketball, along with the introduction of club from the Yeppoon region; growth that is expected to continue.  The junior ‘Learn to Play’ programs continue to be a success and help to introduce new players to the game.

Rockhampton Basketball General Manager, Mr Rebetzke said Rockhampton Basketball is thriving thanks to the Bravus partnership and with the next season about to start, it was a great time for community members to get involved.

“With the NBL 1 North season tipping off soon we’re pleased to announce the continuation of our long-term partnership with Bravus,” Mr Rebetzke said.

“We’ve seen the benefits the partnership has brought in recent years, and it’s shaping up to be another great season, with stars like Najeal Young and Lara McSpadden ready and raring to take the court.

“Basketball is a much-loved sport across the city and we’d love for everyone in town to come along and support the team, and get the kids involved in some of our junior programs as well. Basketball offers something for everyone.”
