New CBD office anchors Bravus' commitment to Rockhampton

Bravus Mining and Resources has celebrated its enduring commitment to Rockhampton with the official opening of its new CBD office.

Bravus Mining and Resources Chief Operating Officer Mick Crowe said the new Victoria Parade premises brought the Rocky team into the heart of the city and provided a fit-for-purpose space from which the business would continue to recruit local people and engage local contractors as the Carmichael mine moved from strength to strength in operations.

“The Rockhampton Region was invaluable to our business throughout the construction of the mine and rail projects and the city’s role hasn’t changed now that we’re in operations,” Mr Crowe said.

“Being able to tap into the expertise of local businesses is critical to being a sustainable, long-term industry, and the work the likes of CQG Consulting, SMW Group, Woongal Environmental Services, TRM Fencing, and Stresscrete do for us is a great example of Rockhampton’s value-add to our operation.

“During construction we paid more than $80 million directly to Rockhampton contractors. Now we operate 18 flights a week through our airline partners to carry people from this region to work at the mine.

“We’re excited to give our team a new workspace that lets them take advantage of all the Rockhampton CBD has to offer, and we’re proud to see our business name sit atop our building as a sign of our commitment to this community.”

Rockhampton Region Mayor Tony Williams said mining and resources were an important part of the regional economy.

“It’s great to watch Bravus grow over the years and become a key player in our Region,” Mayor Williams said.

“I proudly welcome them into their new building in the heart of our CBD which reflects the positive growth of this company and I also thank them for their continued contribution towards our local community groups and organisations.”
